RFG's Eliminator 4.0 Week 19

http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/messag
es/chrono/37719239

Well, we had a pretty wild Daytona that is sure to shake up the standings with all the big guns being taken out, but there was one person that got the winner, that person was... the only guy that is no longer in this game... not to mention that I got the 3rd place pick as well. Maybe not actually being in the competition makes you better at the game... anyways, lets see who was eliminated and such.

Roushfenwayguy- 164 (92) (GHOST PICKS) (Count on me having my best week after elimination, and nobody else even came close.)

PODIUM

1.) Edwardsfan-         161 (84) (+4) (Well, one person came close to my score, and easily takes this segment by storm.)

2.) Bradman-            149 (66) (-1)

3.) Beardawg-           148 (70) (0) (With all the bonsus off of Bayne, he got a decent score.)

NON-PODIUM 130 CLUB

4.) River Rat-           141 (64) (+1)

5.) Flordiawhite-        139 (61) (-2)

6.) Tenacfan-           138 (55) (-5)

7.) Sfrye-                 137 (72) (+4)

8.) Tigersman-         134 (59) (+1)

9.) Fsu1dogs-           132 (55) (-4)

125 CLUB

10.) Berlyn-                127 (55) (0) (You didn't really think that Biffle was going to finish in the top 5 did you?Tongue out)

11.) ILL55INI-             127 (50) (-6)

ELIMINATED

12.) D2Moo-               110 (74) (0) (Had the third best score this week, but it wasn't enough to save him.)

So D2Moo is the one that leaves us this session after making the boldest picks during the first week, but they didn't pay off, and little but two top 5 drivers could have saved him, which is much easier said than done at Daytona, somehow when your eliminated though these things come easy.

Winning Drivers List:

Tigersman-             4 (Once again claims sole possession of first here.)

So this week we had Brad Keselowski get his unpresidented third win, but this time nobody took the chance on the guy that was the second most dominant driver last year. Still, Jimmie and Kyle did fairly well, so we should all be around the same area this week score wise. Also, CBS has had blog editing down for almost a month now... can they please just bring the enhancements out already. So without further ado, the standings:

PODIUM

1.) Tenacfan-            83 (The only one to pick the runner-up, it shows.)

Bradman-                 83 (The handicap game with his +3 bonus puts him at a tie for another segment win.)

3.) Beardawg-           78

Floridawhite-             78

NON-PODIUM 75 CLUB

5.) River Rat-           77 (No this was not with the Kyle, Jimmie combo)

Fsu1dogs-               77

Edwardsfan-             77

ILL55INI-                77 (I wonder why there are so many 77's this week...)

RFG's Eliminator 4.0 Week 17

Blogs are still down and uneditable, here is the link and the stuff from the link here:

es/chrono/37453799

Sorry for getting this up late, but its hard to get to this when you know you are the one sinking into elimination. I'll be making ghost picks throughout the rest of the season to see how well I would have fared, since it is my game and all, but I will not be eligible for any segment wins or eliminations by using ghost picks, I need to at least keep it somewhat entertaining for myself in this game. Anyways, lets see who won, and how everyone else did... well actually one more thing, we had one person pick the unlikely winner in Clint Bowyer, congratulations to D2Moo for getting another one:

PODIUM

1.) Bradman-            161 (78) (0) (The change in Gordon from Ambrose for the preffered driver made the difference.)

2.) ILL55INI-            159 (76) (-1) (Following the strong picks both weeks sure did pay off.)

3.) Berlyn-                158 (81) (0) (Missed winning her first segment by that much.)

NON-PODIUM 125 CLUB

4.) D2Moo-               154 (85) (0) (Almost rose up to first with the only one picking the winner.)

5.) Floridawhite-        136 (74) (0)

6.) Fsu1dogs-           132 (78) (+2) (Picking Gordon over Ambrose was the difference in passing Beardawg.)

7.) Beardawg-           131 (76) (0) (It seems like you are getting a following, 5 people copied your picks!)

8.) River Rat-           130 (76) (+1)

9.) Edwardsfan-        129 (81) (+2)

10.) Sfrye-               127 (78) (0)

100 CLUB

11.) Tenacfan-         123 (67) (-5)

12.) Tigersman-       104 (81) (+1) Huge bounce back to avoid having to use the safety.)

ELIMINATED

13.) Roushfenwayguy- 82 (39) (-1) (Wow, with a score like this I deserve to be eliminated... I guess JPM can't turn around his season at his best track.)

Prediction for New Hamphire, The Chase Begins!

Tom Brady is the highlings right now, and I am bumming, but at least Kurt Busch won here in the summer.. due to pit strategy, but at least nobody on NASCAR is injured, lets see who leads the power rankings.

1.) Denny Hamlin Denny Hamlin This guy won here before, and is 4-5 with top 10s, the other thing is that his avg. finish is 6.8, and he finished 8th in the summer, what's even worse is that if the 8 that didn't pit did pit, Denny Hamlin would have won the race, I didn't get to see so much of this race since I was on vaca, but I know that he had a good car, but he didn't lead a lap, also 3 3rds in a row.

2.) Jimmie Johnson  Jimmie can easily win here, 2 wins in a row, won here before, avg. finish of 10.5, would have finished 2nd if not for the non pitters... he has a great resumé, but Denny did deserve the win last race and should race for it this time.

3.) Jeff Gordon Jeff Gordon Would have gotten 3rd or better if it wasn't for the pit, this guy knows this track more than almost any other, I mean look at some of his finishes, 2,2,3 in the last 3 here (excluding the rain one) in 04 a 2nd, from 1997-2001, 6th for lowest finish, and 2 wins! and another win in 1995, his last 3 are great, and I think he might go on another 1997-2001 roll here with the 11th being his worst finish. Avg is 10.

4.) Kevin Harvick Kevin Harvick In 4 races from 05-07, has top 10s in all, so he knows this track, he won in 06 too, watch him to be a major contender, also on a roll right now in 7 of his 8 races, has a top 10, and the other was a crash, he needs to slow down before I put him outside my top 5, avg. finish 12.7.

5.) Clint Bowyer Clint Bowyer He got a win here, but his other 3 were not better than 20th, he gets put 1 lap down early or goes hunting, he could be a factor with the momentum from making the chase, and with 1st in all 3 practices, if he gets up to the front quick there might be no stopping him.

6.) Tony Stewart Tony Stewart Deserved a 5th, and will be in good form after that 2nd place, he also won here, and his last 4 of 6 races are 3rd or better with a win, so he deserves top 5, thought he might not get it, avg. finish, 12.8

7.) Jeff Burton Jeff Burton won 4 times from 1997-2000, and has a top 10 in 4 of last 5 races (not including rain race, since he should have gotten 4th there), but has no top 5s in a long time, and with him falling off his form, I maybe overrating him, but I believe he can do something, after all, he got a 6th at Richmond, he maybe coming back, avg. finish 10.9.

8.) Carl Edwards Carl Edwards Not the best here, but he did get a 2nd here, but 14.1 avg. finish, so he isn't too consistent with a 22nd worst finish, at least he avoided trouble here, but with chase time here, he will push up his game to make sure he gets stays with Jimmie.

9.) Kyle Busch Kyle Busch 3 of 7 top 5s here, including a win, but if he's not in prime form, he's not too great, no top 10s here, I think he will get one this time and be around this pos., for this race at least, its still Jimmie's time to shine, avg. is 15.7 only...

10.) Matt Kenseth Matt Kenseth Pretty good recently, and he will be the same here, doesn't have a win, but has a top 10 in all but 5 of his races here, take out his first 3 races and the number moves to 2, so he should get a top 10 at least, avg is 10.9, great avg..

11.) Martin Truex Jr. Martin Truex Jr. 3rd to best avg. finish with 10.4, but he is bad this season, and needed to use pit strat to get a 4th, still, I think he is better than some other choices at this track.

12.) Dale Earnhart Jr. Dale Earnhardt Jr. There is noother person to put this high, with a 17.8 avg. finish and 3rd for best, hopefully he can get back into chase contention somewhat.

13.) Ryan Newman Ryan Newman He won here before, and deserved like, a 6th in the summer, also except for a 33 and 39th and the other finish, only one was below 10th, which was a 12th, he got that 12th, 10th and 9th recently, and with him declining more and more in the Cup, he might finish below here, but if so barely, avg. is 11.4.

14.) Aric Almirola Aric Almirola (R) 23rd in debut, add 8 positions, he should have gotten around 15th, and his 2nd time he will be fighting harder since he knows the track, besides, nobody else is reliable down the rest of the list.

15.) Kurt Busch  Won here due to stratergy, but amazing in 05/04 with 2 2nds and a 1st, still right after that, when he was still good, he declined, and now he might not even get top 20, but I'll give him a chance, avg. is 16.1.

16.) Kasey Kahne Kasey Kahne Not great recently, with a 20th and 25th, then a bad race at NH in the summer, other than that had some top 10s from 04 to 06, could he get back to that, I doubt it, but you never know, avg. is 17.2 with 4th for best finish.

17.) David RaganDavid Ragan 15th and 19th in races excluding summer, he could be top 15 material, that's about it though.

18.) Greg Biffle Greg Biffle In 05-06, he got 3 top 5s, other than that, he pretty much got nothing else here, so avoid him if you can, avg. is 19.5.

19.) Brian Vickers Brian Vickers Deserved 8th, got 16th in summer race, also got a 5th here, but 20.1 avg. pos., he needs moere stats, then again, he is better this season, he could be the dark horse yet again.

20.) Joey Logano- Joey Logano (R) Good News- Will make debut this week, and could do something. Bad News- He is in the dreaded 96 car, and he was bad in practice, but its Joey, give him a chance.

Other Drivers of Note

Robby Gordon- Has a win, I want to see something from this guy, avg. is 21.5 though.

A.J. Allmedinger- 33rd and 43rd, but improving this season, watch him as always.

Jaime McMurray- 5th for best finish and 22.2 avg. finish, probably won't be a factor with his season, but was decent in practice, could go for top 20.

Reed Sorenson- Has a 6th here and good here, but he was good at other tracks this year just to bust

Bobby LaBonte- He needs a good finish before he goes back to the top 20, why did he stay with Petty I will never know.

Predictions for Bristol, the Small Bank

1.) Kyle BuschKyle Busch This guy does nothing but win, get a top 5, or crash trying to, at Michigan he did horrible in the spring and his past record, but he proved us wrong with a 2nd place finish, now we are going to a trac where he won before, and not this season, he got a 17th before, 2 laps down due to a problem, but did lead for some time, avg. finish of 14.0 for 6th makes him a good choice.

2.) Carl Edwards Carl Edwards Wow, 2 wins and 2 2nd places, all within 4-6 races, give this guy some credit, has a major momentum shift, and next to RIR (at least for now with the CoT) Roush does the best here, he has a win here and avg. finish of 15.4 for 8th, watch this guy to be with Kyle Busch, just in the opposite order.

3.) Kevin Harvick Kevin Harvick with 4 of 5 top 8 finishes, he is just getting a bigger and bigger cushion to be in the chase, just as I predicted he would, had great tracks for him ahead, and still has, at this track, one of the only 2 with an avg. finish below 10.0 (9.9) he won here, and knows how do get around here, oh, and he got 2nd in the RIR domination.

4.) Greg BiffleGreg Biffle Just got a top 5 for momentum, and has the highest avg. finish here (9.7) he also would have won in the spring if no RIR drivers existed, no win, but 3rd for best finish, and with a 22nd for worst after 11 races, he know how to stay out of trouble.

5.) Dale Earnart Jr. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Only 23rd at MIS, but he loves short tracks, almost won at Richmond, we all remember that... put that aside, finished 5th in the spring and has one of his few wins here, with his good season, watch him to be up toward the front.

6.) Matt Kenseth Matt Kenseth Hey, 5th at MIS, we all saw a good finish, but everyone likes momentum, has a win, and avg. finish of 12.4 after 17 starts, including crashes, he is always a threat here, and 10th in the spring, he can run up in the top 10 very easily.

7.) Jeff BurtonJeff Burton Won here earlier, but he was a lot better, still, with RIR dominance here, watch him for the top and to pull off some redemption, got an 11th at MIS, and he is much better at this track with an avg. finish of 15.9, so this guy for a top 10.

8.) Clint Bowyer Clint Bowyer He hasn't been doing good recently, but we all expected it, he had a lot of horrible tracks for him to come, but like last year, this is where he shines, and maybe he can get back in the chase and surprise us all with a 3rd place again. Has a 3rd best place, from the spring, and avg. finish of 16.2, its RIR vs. Roush in a brawl at this track.

9.) Jimmie Johnson Jimmie Johnson He is a threat everywhere now, like Kyle Busch, he got a 3rd for best finish, but came back from a lap down this race to get back and stay on the lead lap, just to spin out at track's end, with avg. finish of 16.2, this guy is a threat.

10.) Tony Stewart Tony Stewart 1st here before, but 12th last week, and 14th earlier this year, to be the last car on the lead lap, still, he is getting better, and a top 10 is in his alley, his avg. finish is 16.8 to be 15th (this included Slerling Marlin, who has the 9th to best avg. finish)

11.) Kasey Kahne Kasey Kahne Very consistent, unfontunately went out last week, and he was struggling, but finished 7th at Bristol earlier, 2nd for his best finish, I maybe underrating this guy, so watch him. His avg. is only 18.6 though.

12.) Jaime McMurray Jamie McMurray 16,6,9,10, that's over the last 4 races, he finished dead last in the spring, obviosly due to an accident, but he went back out and finish, other than that, has a 3rd here, 20.1 avg. finish with that 43rd, so not bad, and he has momentum, so watch him to go up there, the dark horse, and probably less of a risk than Bowyer, but Bowyer will do better if he can avoid trouble.

Mark Martin... Mark Martinoh darn, he's not racing... moving on...

13.) Master of Disguise (Elliot Sadler) Elliott Sadler Darn, I can't add a moustashe, well, anyway, has a 9th to bounce off of, finished 19th before, but he actually won here, where esle has he won, not many other places, he has been a consistent top 20 driver recently, and he only has a 22.4 avg. finish, but I am putting my trust into this guy.

14.) Jeff Gordon Jeff Gordon He just keeps on going and going and going....... backwards!!! He got an 11th in the spring, and he would be lower, but there is not much I can put in his way, he is just horrible now.

15.) Kurt Busch Kurt Busch He is getting worse and worse like Gordon, he was 10th, then BAM, out, he is good at this track, won last year, but he is a good driver, he needs to follow Newman out of Penske, him in Stewart/ HAAS would he nice, and I'm sure Newman would like his partner back, and Stewart, since they were rivals that made up, and he is an experienced driver, but enough of my moving ranting, got a 12th in the spring, so he showed signs of hope, but still horrible this season overall, one of his few top 15s, and he might get another if he is lucky, avg. finish is 14.3

16.) Ryan Newman Ryan Newman He never won here, but got a 2nd, avg. finish of 21.2 only though, this guy won't be much of a threat.

17.) Denny Hamlin Denny Hamlin He got 6th in the spring for his best finish, after he should have won, but he is horrible now and crashed again, he even said, "We shouldn't even be in the chase", is that a sign that he is giving up? avg. finish of 16.6, but shouldn't be that great.

18.) Aric Almirola Aric Almirola (R) He ran here last year, and got a 36th, but ran again and got an 8th, this year to give him hope, now he could build it up again, I doubt it, but better than other drivers to choose. He could be a surprise and get a top 10, we will have to wait and see though, maybe he just needs some 500 laps of experience on a track before he starts running well on it.

19.) David Reutimann David Reutimann He got a 20th here in the spring, for his only finish, but after a 14th at MIS, he stands a shot of going up there, sigh, if only McDowell could do this good.

20.) Brian VickersBrian Vickers He had problems in the spring race for a 39th, he only has a 12th for best finish, but he is better this season, and riding off a 7th finish, he could be a top 20 or even top 15, his avg. finish is only 26.4 though.

Other Drivers to Watch

Bobby LaBonte- He got a 3rd here, but has been a disappointment lately, this guy won't go too far I don't think, Petty Enterprises broke him.

Juan Pablo Montoya- got a 15th in the spring, but he was a lap down, the only one, so he really didn't need to do much but avoid trouble to stay here, still, could be a surprise.

Martin Truex Jr.- Only and 11th for best finish, after 5 races, 23.4 avg. finish, he has a 16th at a great track for him, he doesn't have it at all this season.

David Ragan- He only has a 21st for best finish, but hey, he is a Roush driver.... could that help...

David Gilliland- Got a 9th for best finish in the spring this year, still avg. of 30.0 after 4 tracks otherwise, trouble follows him here, but if it doesn't, he could show something.
